Gabrieli Consort at Oundle International Festival - Silence and Music

For over 30 years Paul McCreesh and Gabrieli have surprised, challenged and inspired audiences with bold choral performances and award-winning recordings. Their 2016 summer a cappella programme (and this is the only chance to see it outside London) focuses on 20th century English secular music.

Taking its title from a Vaughan Williams partsong, the programme explores settings of glorious poetry and how poets and composers reflect upon the natural world as a metaphor for our own emotional experience. At the heart of the programme is the complex relationship between man and nature, and features repertoire by Britten, Warlock, Elgar, Stanford and Finzi.
