The London Festival of Contemporary Music 2016 opens with this fascinating programme of ancient and contemporary music presented by the acclaimed Choir of Gonville and Caius College, Cambridge.

'Music for the lost palace of St Stephen's, Westminster' contrasts works by Renaissance composers Nicholas Ludford and John Sheppard with contemporary works by James MacMillan, John Kenny, Barnaby Brown, Stephen Bick and Francis Grier, including new compositions and improvisations for ancient instruments.

Pre-concert talk at 6.45pm: Dr Geoffrey Webber, Director of the Choir of Gonville and Caius College, Cambridge, talks with Festival Director Christopher Batchelor and composers John Kenny and Barnaby Brown ahead of tonight's London Festival of Contemporary Church Music opening concert.
