This concert celebrates Malcolm Arnold placing him alongside other 'greats' of British music in the 20th century. All were members of the Savile - hence the title.

"The Chamber Ensemble of London is developing quite a reputation for discovering and championing little-known or lost repertoire for string orchestras" commented the Classic FM website when 'Over Hill, Over Dale' was CD of the Week. The works by Alwyn and Stanford in this programme are good examples of this.

The concert is sponsored by the Malcolm Arnold Trust. The Chamber Ensemble of London's latest CD 'A British Serenade - solos with string orchestra' (Heritage Records) will be launched at this concert. Three Arnold tracks on this are sponsored by another Arnold organisation - the Malcolm Arnold Society.
