  1. Concerto for Violin and Orchestra in D Op 61 - Ludwig van Beethoven
  2. Symphony No 9 in E minor, 'From the New World' Op 95 - Antonín Dvorák

With some artists, the name is enough. Anne-Sophie Mutter describes herself as having a 'mountain-climbing personality', though for most music-lovers, she's purely and simply one of the best violinists in the world today. Any chance to hear her live is a major occasion, and to hear her scale the heights of Beethoven's huge, sunlit concerto is something very special indeed. To accompany her, Robin Ticciati makes a welcome return – and he'll bring all his insight and sense of theatre to Dvorák's best-loved symphony too. Some pieces are classics for a reason, and with Ticciati conducting, expect the New World to spring sparkling to life.
