  1. Music for 18 Musicians - Steve Reich
  2. In Seven Days - Thomas Adès

London Sinfonietta come to Glasgow for a one-off concert which brings together thrilling work by two utterly different musical spirits.

Thomas Adés, once a wunderkind of British music, now maturing into a major international force, has created a concerto for piano, orchestra and video with artist, Tal Rosner. In Seven Days reflects on the myth and act of creation in a spectacular and virtuoso score which was conceived alongside its visual element – a multi screen video projection by Rosner.

Conducted by Adés himself, it’s an intense, dramatic and breathless experience to complement the first Scottish performance of Steve Reich’s Music for 18 Musicians in 10 years. Reich’s work features through this year as part of our minimalism strand, and this seminal masterpiece has to count of one of the highlights of the year. London Sinfonietta, fresh from performing the piece with Reich himself, are authoritative interpreters.
