Sir Roger Norrington returns to the city of his birth with some of the jewels of the classical era, presenting a snapshot of the repertoire for which he is most celebrated. The audience can expect to find exuberance barely concealed in Beethoven’s scherzo, the quirks of Haydn’s opening movement that provoked the nickname ‘The Hen’, and a taste of Saint-George's most successful comic opera – as well as the beauty of one of Mozart’s most cherished concertos.
