Stephen Hough sets the tone for Music at Oxford’s new season with a magnificent programme encompassing the romantic breadth of the piano repertoire. The first flowerings of romanticism in Schubert’s work, through the massive tone paintings of Franck and Liszt lead into the cooler evocation of scene captured in Debussy’s highly coloured imaginings.

We are delighted to welcome Stephen Hough to our series – one of the pre-eminent pianists of our day, a wonderful thinker, artist and communicator.
