Praised by Sir Mark Elder for his ‘glowing’ performances, Australian-British pianist Jayson Gillham received first prize at the prestigious Montreal Music Competition in 2014. For our first Young Artists Coffee Concert of the season, Gillham brings his elegant style and subtle interpretative skills to a delightful programme which includes Schubert’s charming and joyous early sonata in A major, Handel’s most popular keyboard suite, and a youthful crowd-pleasing masterpiece by Brahms which expands a Handelian theme into a set of variations of enormous emotional scope and dramatic power.

After the recital, meet the artist and enjoy a complimentary coffee, sherry or squash in the foyer. These hour-long recitals are family friendly – all ages welcome.
