The Tower of London remains one of Britain’s most iconic buildings, intimately linked to the history of the nation.

The small Chapel Royal of St Peter ad Vincula, in the shadow of the White Tower, is resting place to some of the most important figures of the 16th century, including three queens and Thomas More and John Fisher. Through a sequence of words and music, the Odyssean Ensemble explores the tumultuous religious and political landscape of the time.

Hear excerpts from Taverner’s Western Wind Mass, the first sacred music of its kind to use a popular melody alongside Francisco Guerrero’s Ave Maria for double choir and more unusual works by Cornysh and Portuguese composer Morales.
