To hear great Czech musicians play repertoire from their homeland is an experience never to be forgotten: the rhythms have a particular snap and the melodies an idiomatic lilt that no-one else can achieve. Expect fireworks, then, from maestro Jirí Belohlàvek and his outstanding Czech Philharmonic Orchestra as they perform masterpieces by their compatriots, concluding with Dvorak’s folk-inspired Symphony No.7. They’re joined by the exciting young soloist Chloë Hanslip for Mendelssohn’s Violin Concerto.
