  1. Concerto for Cello and Orchestra in B minor Op 104 - Antonín Dvorák
  2. Symphony No 8 in G Op 88 - Antonín Dvorák

In this immersive all-Dvorák concert we hear his last solo concerto and most jovial symphony. Brahms is said to have remarked on hearing the Concerto, "Why on earth did I not know that one could write a cello concerto like this? Had I known, I would have written one long ago." Following his stormy Symphony No 7, the 8th arrives like a breath of fresh air, echoing lyrical Czech folk tunes and characterised by a rising three-note figure which is present in all four movements.
