This is an attractive programme of well-loved music. It includes Chopin's Ballade in F minor, Liszt's Hungarian Dance No 13 and some of most beautiful songs by Strauss (eg Morgen) and Brahms (Feldeinsamkeit).
Soprano Alice Bishop has a fine reputation for captivating audiences with interesting programmes of songs, expressively sung. She has given many well-received recitals and other recent engagements have included Strauss’ Four Last Songs, Handel’s Dixit Dominus, Mozart’s Ch’io mi scordi di te?, Bruckner’s Mass in F Minor, Beethoven's 9th Symphony, Haydn’s Little Organ Mass, Nelson Mass and Salve Regina, Rutter’s Requiem, Mass of the Children and Feel the Spirit, Vivaldi’s Gloria and a recording of a new oratorio by Joe St Johanser
Pianist Elenlucia Pappalardo obtained a Master of Music in Advanced Piano Performance and a Postgraduate Diploma in Performance (Harpsichord and Fortepiano) from the Royal College of Music, both with distinction. While at the RCM, she was granted a scholarship from Il Circolo, the Ruth Dyson Award, the Nick Ferguson Piano Award, the Amadeus Fortepiano Prize and the Kendall Taylor Beethoven Prize. Elenlucia has given many recitals in the UK, Italy, Belgium, France, Austria and USA and has performed as a soloist with orchestras such as the European Union Chamber Orchestra, the Contemporary Music Orchestra of Palermo, the Mediterranean Orchestra for Peace and the Dorking Philharmonic Orchestra. Her concerts in London have included performances at St Martin-in-the-Fields, Steinway Hall, Proms at St Jude's, Händel House, House of Parliament, Goldsmith Hall and Royal Opera House.
