On Saturday the 8th of May international harpist Robin Ward will be performing at St George’s Church, Church Street, Toddington, LU5 6AA as part of his 2010 programme. The programme entitled From the Golden Age, is an exploration of the triple harp and its music. The programme includes music from the 17th century onwards, with a combination of music originally written for the instrument and Robin's own transcriptions. It includes music form the Baroque, Classical, and Romantic periods as well as music from Folk Traditions.

Robin is a very unique musician. He is one of only a handful of people who play the triple professionally in the world, and he also builds his own instruments. Robin’s talent and mastery of the instrument is complimented by his informative and engaging performance approach, through which he discusses the background and context of the music throughout the programme. For many it is the first time they have heard a solo harp played live.

Originally from New Zealand, Robin is currently residing in the UK, where he has been touring extensively. In 2009 between concerts in the UK and tours in New Zealand and Australia, Robin performed over 70 concerts. In February 2009 he released his first solo CD; No Pedals Attached, and his second CD, is due to be released mid 2010. As well as playing the harp, Robin is also an accomplished instrument maker and harp teacher.
