A concert to mark the tercentenary of the legendary Welsh harper John Parry (Blind Parry / Parri Ddall, 1710-1782) in the church where he is buried. John Parry appeared at London's Ranelagh Gardens and his playing was admired by Handel. The leading triple harpists of today, Robin Huw Bowen, Rhes Ganol, Angharad Evans and Ann Griffiths, honour him on this unique occasion.
The concert will be preceded by a day school of lectures about John Parry, his life and times, with speakers to include Ann Griffiths on John Parry, Miles Wynn Cato on William Parry, his artist son, and Oliver Fairclough on his patron, Sir Watkin Williams-Wynn of Wynnstay, Ruabon, Enbighshire.
