Trinity College of Music students perform Bartók’s Contrasts for clarinet, violin and piano (commissioned by the jazz clarinettist Benny Goodman) alongside other major piano works and a new solo piano composition by a Trinity student on the theme of folklore.

Part of Harmony of Peoples – The Music of Béla Bartók (16-19 March), an intriguing four day exploration of the great Hungarian composer as innovator. Trinity College of Music students will be putting Bartók’s ground-breaking work under the looking glass and provoking responses from Trinity composers and improvisers.
