Valentin Schiedermair Piano Recital

We have held fortnightly lunch-time concerts on Thursdays at St John’s since 1975.There are concerts on alternate Thursdays from September to early July, so there are about 20 each year. Sometimes there is a three or four week gap at Christmas or Easter.Tea, coffee and sandwiches etc. are available from 11.45am and the concert begins at 12.30pm. There is usually an interval and the concert finishes about 1.45pm or 2pm.Valentin Schiedermair’s recent solo tours of China, Taiwan and Singapore drew enthusiastic audiences in fifteen major cities. In Taipei alone he has already given six recitals and they usually finish only after five or six encores. The University of Shenzhen awarded him a guest professorship in recognition of his contribution to the musical exchange between China and Germany. TimeOut magazine in Singapore made his recital No1 critics’ choice of the month. Two new solo CDs 'Poetry & Passion' and 'From West to East' were released this year.
