For the last time this season Roger Vignoles brings a great Strauss singer to Wigmore Hall.

The German lyric soprano Anne Schwanewilms will already be well-known to devoted followers of the Hyperion recordings of these songs and her richly varied programme in this concert will need no special pleading.

From the neglected Ophelia songs from Shakespeare’s Hamlet the recital looks back to some of Strauss’s earliest triumphs.
