Ivan Ilic - piano recital

We are delighted to welcome the internationally-renowned pianist Ivan Ilic back to North Down for a very special recital in the beautiful surroundings of the Council Chamber at Bangor Town Hall.

Described by the New Yorker as an “adventurous pianist” who “likes his music on the brainy side”, Ivan has made piano music written for the left hand only his specialism – to watch him play is to watch a virtuoso masterclass! His recent recording of Godowsky’s left-hand arrangements of 22 Chopin studies has been critically acclaimed worldwide, and here in Bangor you will soon have the opportunity to hear for yourself.

Ivan has also branched out into acting, appearing in two short films. Les Mains (Izak’s Choice), directed by Luc Plissonneau, sees him take the starring role and will be shown at the beginning of our concert.
