  1. Tobias and the Angel - Jonathan Dove

Jonathan Dove's highly acclaimed one-act opera, incorporating a large cast of professionals, amateurs, and children, never pauses for breath as it retells the ancient story of Tobias' journey of enlightenment. Guided by an angel, he discovers the nature of faith and the redemptive power of love while battling supernatural creatures, a jealous demon, and his own pride.

Though it has travelled the world, Tobias and the Angel was first premiered at Christ Church, Highbury in 1999. It returns to London in a new production at the beautiful Union Chapel, the home of Highbury Opera Theatre. Artistic Director Scott Stroman has assembled an exceptional cast of professional singers and instrumentalists, who will be joined by an adult chorus drawn from community choirs, Highbury Young Singers, and young singers and dancers from local schools.
