  1. The Dream of Gerontius Op 38 - Sir Edward Elgar

Dramatic and beautiful - this is widely regarded as Elgar's finest choral work. Based on the famous poem by John Henry Newman, this work describes the journey of a man's soul to see his God at the end of his earthly life. Encounters with angels and demons add to the drama and provide Elgar with the opportunity to write some of his most stirring and lyrical music.
