London Santara Šviesa Club presents one of the most prominent contemporary Lithuanian composers, Bronius Kutavicius, who has encrypted the emotional remnants of pagan rites. His special kind of minimalism is rooted deeply in archaic forms of Lithuanian folk music and captures melancholy and intense drama. This will be a talk about Kutavicius’ compositions, such as Pantheistic Oratorio and Last Pagan Rites, followed by the performance of his chamber music.
