Levens Choir invite you to join us in our celebration of summer. The theme is: Songs to Shakespeare! – Songs of Love! – Songs of Praise!

Following the success of its Passiontide programme of Renaissance music, Levens Choir presents a midsummer miscellany of choral music with instrumental interludes. Featuring Gerald Finzi’s rousing anthem ‘God is Gone Up with a Triumphant Shout’, Gabriel Faure’s beautifully melodic ‘Cantique de Jean Racine’, Bob Chilcott’s setting of words from Shakespeare’s The Tempest ‘The Isle is Full of Noises’ and Percy Granger’s bizarre arrangement of the folksong ‘The Lost Lady Found’ the programme will be a real eclectic mix of music for all tastes. Other composers include Stanford, Matyas Seiber, Thomas Tallis and Holst.
