A concert to bring to an end the weekend of celebrations in Salisbury for the Queen's Diamond Jubilee. The first half of the programme is based upon music performed at Coronations. The second half will create an atmosphere similar to that of 'Last Night of the Proms'

Two Concert Bands - Salisbury City Band of The Royal British Legion - conductor Roger Allsopp and Southampton Concert Wind Band - conductor Calum Gray, join together for most of the programme. The Salisbury Jubilee Chorus - under the direction of John Dempster, will sing two choral works and lead the audience in singing 'I vow to thee my country'. In the second half, pipers from Southern Jacobites will entertain with a selection of old and new favourites. The audience will once more be involved in 'Land of Hope and Glory' and 'Rule Britannia'. The soprano soloist will be Diane Charlesworth.

The Concert is being promoted by the Salisbury City Band of The Royal British Legion. This band was formed last year during the 90th anniversary of The Royal British Legion. The standards of the Royal British Legion will be paraded during the second half and the concert will end with the playing of the British Legion March.

Our compere for the evening will be Ian Newman.
