  2. String Quartet No 12 in C minor, 'Quartettsatz' D703 - Franz Schubert
  3. String Quartet No 4 in C minor Op 18 No 4 - Ludwig van Beethoven

The one completed movement of Schubert's unfinished quartet D703 is the haunting centrepiece to this programme which opens with a wonderful example of Haydn's genius for the medium. The concert ends with Beethoven's Op.18 No.4, which abounds in contrasts of mood as much as any of the composer's early quartets.

This is the final concert of 'Magginis in Breckland,' a new chamber music festival set in the stunning surroundings of Breckland, Norfolk. Having performed in Norfolk for over twenty years, this festival celebrates the Quartet's special connection with local audiences and promises to bring music of the highest calibre to the local community.
