An evening of lush romanticism, perfect for high summer. The Cheltenham Symphony Orchestra will beguile you with Mendelssohn's inspired music for Shakespeare's most romantic of comedies, A Midsummer Nights Dream, a feast of fairies, lovers and Mechanicals.

American soprano, April Frederick joins the orchestra to perform Berlioz's most lush of song cycles, Les Nuits d’été and the nocturnal mood is continued with Delius's Summer Night on the River.

And finally another Frenchman, Georges Bizet who wrote his Symphony in C at the age of 17, a youthful, melodic charming piece.

So there you are, youth, romance, fairies, all on a summer night.
