Samling Concert with Sir Thomas Allen

Sir Thomas Allen returns to his native North East to share a wealth of knowledge gathered over 40 years with specially selected young artists. He will be joined in leading one of Samling's prestigious Masterclass weeks by eminent pianist Roger Vignoles with whom he shares a long-standing musical partnership. Soprano Patricia MacMahon and pianist Christopher Glynn complete the leadership team.

Six young singers and a pianist were selected to participate in one of Samling’s world renowned Masterclass weeks with their efforts being celebrated in a special concert, providing a unique opportunity for the new Samling Scholars to perform alongside their mentors, including Sir Thomas Allen. With a varied and lively programme of song and opera arias and ensembles, it gives audiences a chance to experience some of the great works in classical vocal music performed by some of the best young artists of their generation.
