Pianist and founder of the Concerts at St Peter's series, Matthew Rickard gives a summer evening concert of music for solo piano. The recital will begin with an atmospheric Nocturne by Poulenc before continuing with one of Debussy's most popular works, the Suite bergamasque, which of course includes the all-time favourite, Clair de lune. Also included in the programme will be Ravel's Sonatine, the sensuous Almeria by Albeniz and the C Minor Toccata by J.S. Bach. The recital will end with the heroic first piano sonata by a youthful Johannes Brahms.

Matthew Rickard studied at the University of Surrey and the Royal Academy of Music, and has a busy career as both soloist and chamber musician throughout the UK and abroad. Matthew has recorded for the EM Records and Toccata Classics labels to critical acclaim, with one reviewer describing Matthew's playing as "heroically impressive".

St Peter's is a beautiful Grade 1 listed Church in Old Woking. Its beautiful architecture and excellent acoustics make it the perfect venue for what promises to a memorable evening of piano music.
