  1. The Planets - Gustav Holst

Due to popular demand for tickets for Gustav Holst’s Space Opera on 24th March, this second performance date of 31st March has now been added. This is a superb double-bill of edutainment in Thinktank's Planetarium features a recorded version of Holst's The Planets to accompany some stunning visual hi-tech wizardry with 360-degree panoramic views and digital Dolby sound. Full details and online booking can be found on the Thinktank website.

On the Space Opera website you will gain some idea of how wonderful, amazing and hi-tech the 360-degree panoramic dome show part of the evening will be. The first-half of the double bill show is an audio-visual illustrated lecture given by musicologist, historian and Holst scholar Neil Arthur Williams, "Gustav Holst’s The Planets: From Hollywood to Bollywood and Beyond!" (An Incredible Tale of How One of the Most Cherished Works of the Classical Concert Hall Has Gone on to Inspire and Influence Worldwide Popular Culture in Television, Movies, Sci-Fi, Sport, Multimedia and Rock, Pop & Jazz.)

The Thinktank Planetarium only holds a maximum of 80 people (including 11 fold-down rear seats), so book early to avoid disappointment.
