Leeds Philharmonic Chorus presents an exciting programme of celebratory music by Handel and Mozart in honour of the Queen's Diamond Jubilee. The concert will feature Alexej Gorlatch, the talented young Ukrainian pianist who took the Silver Prize at the 2009 Leeds International Piano Competition. Note: the four vocal soloists appear by kind permission of the Royal Northern College of Music.

Leeds Philharmonic Chorus has been at the heart of choral music in Leeds for over 140 years. As well as taking part in the annual Leeds International Concert Season, it promotes its own programme of concerts. It has appeared at major venues across the country, and tours to mainland Europe every two years. Its last visit, in July 2011, was to Germany to take part in the Dortmund Music Festival. The Chorus has recorded several CDs, and many of its concerts have been broadcast on BBC Radio 3.
