  1. The Crucifixion - Sir John Stainer

The Stamford Bridge Singers will make a return visit to Ainderby Steeple to perform John Stainer's The Crucifixion on the eve of Passion Sunday. This performance will take the form of a mediation and will set the mood for the lead up to Easter. The Singers are delighted to have the services of two of the Songmen from York Minster to sing the Tenor and Bass solos on this occasion.

This will be the first time that the Stamford Bridge Singers have sung the entire Oratorio although they have sung parts of it in previous concerts. The congregation will be invited to sing the hymns which are interspersed between the solo and chorus items. As St Helen's is a village church, it is advisable to book your tickets in advance.
