British-Vietnamese pianist Tra Nguyen is giving a series of recitals in the UK to coincide with her CD release on Grand Piano Records (a new premium label of Naxos). "Moments Musicaux" explores some of the most intimate writings of 19th century piano literature in the Salon Culture inspired setting of the 1901 Arts Club.

Tra Nguyen’s performances have been praised as "coruscating" (The Independent), "sophisticated" (Rheinpfalz-Zeitung) and possessing "surpassing keyboard artistry and passion" (American Record Guide). Her recent orchestral recording debut of Joachim Raff's Suite for Piano and Orchestra was chosen as Album of the Week by The Independent, in March 2010.

Tra's imaginative programming balances core repertoire and lesser-known music. She worked with Sterling Records to produce premiere recordings of music for piano and orchestra by Joachim Raff. The most recent chamber music CD with clarinettist Sabine Grofmeier has been released on ARS Produktion, featuring works of the German romantics and their contemporaries. 2012 will see the release of her recording of Joachim Raff's piano music on Naxos' new label Grand Piano Records.

Tra gave her first performance at the Hanoi Opera House when she was ten and has continued to engage audiences in other prestigious venues worldwide. Tra Nguyen studied with Lev Naumov in Moscow Conservatory and with Christopher Elton at the Royal Academy of Music, London. Future engagements include concerto performances with leading Vietnamese orchestras and solo recitals in the UK with an evening recital at Wigmore Hall in December 2012.
