Tasmin Little & Piers Lane

Tasmin Little and Piers Lane have had equally flourishing international solo careers, and are highly respected musicians on their respective instruments; they have a long-standing partnership and perform together frequently. Following her appearance in The South Bank Show in 2008, which followed her ground-breaking project The Naked Violin, Tasmin has been honoured with the Critic’s Award at the Classical Brit Awards in 2011 for her recording on Chandos of Elgar’s Violin Concerto, and which she recently performed to great acclaim at the 2011 Proms. Piers Lane is a five times soloist at the BBC Proms and frequent presenter for BBC Radio 3, including the popular 54 part series, The Piano.

For this concert these two exceptional performers artfully combine one of Brahms early violin and piano works with the hauntingly passionate and powerful sonata of Respighi and the velvety refinement of Strauss.
