Top Choir Kent is Kent's premier competition for amateur choirs - promoted by the Rotary Club of Canterbury. Choirs from all over Kent and the London Boroughs of 'Old Kent' are eligible to enter.

Eight choirs have been shortlisted for the final and the winning choir will receive the Brett Top Choir Kent trophy and be given the chance to perform in the 2011 Canterbury Festival. The chairman of the judges is Dr David Flood, Organist and Master of Choristers at Canterbury Cathedral. Dr Flood will be joined by Susan Wanless, Director of Music at the University of Kent and David Burridge, former Kent Secondary Schools Adviser for Music.

An added attraction of the Final will be a performance by the winners of the Top Choir Kent 2010 competition, Green Street Blues from Sevenoaks. The Patron of Top Choir Kent, Lord Carey, the former Archbishop of Canterbury, accompanied by Lady Carey, will also be present.

Top Choir Kent is organised by the Rotary Club of Canterbury and any surplus will go to Rotary charities at home and abroad.
