Consortium5 and Juice join forces to perform the newly commissioned 'A Stratagem for Light' (PRS, RVW Trust, Britten-Pears foundation). Music by Luke Styles - www.lukestyles.com Text by Jacob Sam-La Rose - www.jsamlarose.com

This new work will be juxtaposed with vocal inspired instrumental Renaissance works (Dowland, Byrd, Tye, Victoria) performed by Consortium5 and contemporary vocal works (Robinson, Hellawell, Oates) performed by Juice.

The evening explores the relationship between the human voice and the recorder; exploring, questioning and underlining the concept of the recorder as the closest instrument to the human voice.
