For our main concert this Christmas, we have put together a fine selection of festive music, plus a chance to give your own vocal cords a blast,
Our main piece is Britten's Ceremony of Carols, which takes some traditional English carols and transforms them into absolutely rapturous harmony. We have a snowy theme for the concert, with Elgar's wonderful romantic song The Snow, Sleigh Ride and some rousing carols. We even have our fun version of All I want for Christmas is you to end the show.
We're running the concert at Tea Time (4pm) and there will be an interval with festive refreshments. We'll be finishing by 5.30 pm.
The venue, St James's Garlickhythe, is just a step away from Mansion House tube in the City of London. Founded in the 13th century. and rebuilt by Sir Christopher Wren, it's a superb venue, with excellent accoustics. It's an official stop on the camino pilgrimage route to Santiago de Compostella in Spain, so don't forget your Credencial! There is enough space for us to offer seats on the door, although you'll find that the tickets are cheaper if brought in advance.
So don't delay - put us in your Christmas Concert Diary!
