Waterloo Winds is a quintet of alumni from London's dynamic young professional orchestra, the Southbank Sinfonia. At the heart of their programme today is Nielsen's Wind Quintet, one of the staple works in the wind quintet repertoire, written in 1922 and described by the scholar Robert Simpson as 'one of the subtlest and finest [wind quintets] ever written.
