  1. Elijah Op 70 - Felix Mendelssohn

Three leading Welsh choirs team up with the visiting Sinfonie Orchester Schöneberg from Berlin to perform Mendelssohn's great oratorio. A team of top soloists includes Welsh mezzo Angharad Lyddon, who was a song prize finalist in this year's BBC Cardiff Singer of the World competition.

Following performances in Cardiff on Saturday 6 October and in St Davids Cathedral in Pembrokeshire on Saturday 12 October, the oratorio will be performed by the same forces in Berlin's Philharmonie on 27 October.

After the first performance of Elijah in 1846, The Times critic wrote “’Never was there a more complete triumph”. Come along and see and hear why.
