The evening will be a feast of varied musical entertainment with the aim of raising thousands of pounds for Force Cancer Charity - Exeter's local cancer charity which supports everyone affected by cancer.
Back for a seventh time, this is an evening of popular classical music, featuring familiar and uplifting tunes. The musical programme concludes with a rousing Last Night of the Proms style finale that is guaranteed to get the audience singing along.
The Classics Galore! Orchestra comprising top musicians from Exeter and East Devon, will perform alongside the award-winning South West Comms Band from Lympstone, singers from Exeter's St David's Players and Ottery St Mary Choral Society.
The Terrace Bar of the Great Hall will be open from 5.15pm for those wishing to have a meal before the concert (no booking required) and there will be free shuttle buses running between the Great Hall and car parks A and B for concert patrons.
As well as providing superb entertainment, Classics Galore! has now raised nearly £90,000 for Force Cancer Charity and this year’s concert will be particularly poignant as Dick Passmore, the event’s inspirational founder, died in February this year.
Dick and his wife, Posy, organised the first Classics Galore! in 2007 and have been the driving force behind these concerts ever since. They have been held every two years and Dick was determined to reach his goal of raising a total of £100,000 for Force at this year’s concert.
