Wentworth Woodhouse presents a magical evening of Georgian opera, featuring two 45-minute performances by international opera stars Oliver Gerrish and Alexandra Kennedy.
Oliver Gerrish is a renowned British countertenor and impresario, equally at home with the traditional musical heritage of the renaissance and baroque eras, as well as contemporary compositions.
A classical musician and Cambridge-educated architectural historian, he has performed with many leading conductors and accompanists across the world and has organised and led over 200 tours to many of the country's most historic and beautiful buildings.
He co-founded the music series Chelsea Concerts with soprano Alexandra Kennedy, which has helped to raise money and awareness for a number of charities since 2009. His work to stage grand opera in historic buildings has helped to raise funds and awareness for historic buildings in distress, including the Wentworth Woodhouse Appeal.
