To celebrate the 100th anniversary of Debussy‘s death, Bernard D’Ascoli presents two of the French composer’s masterpieces for piano, ‘L’isle joyeuse‘ (1904) and the second book of ‘Images’ (1907). They are prefaced by key works from the composers who arguably influenced him most, Chopin and César Franck, and contrasted with the music of his greatest rival, Maurice Ravel.
