Symphony No 5 in C sharp minor
- Gustav Mahler
EMG Symphony Orchestra and Music Director Leo Geyer present Mahler’s dramatic, emotional epic Symphony No 5. The fourth movement of the symphony was famously featured in the film Death in Venice, but the piece as a whole is a virtuosic orchestral portrayal of love and grief. This promises to be an evening not to be missed!
The concert is in aid of Living with Aphasia, who support people in Devon affected by aphasia. Aphasia is a communication disability, which usually occurs after a stroke or head injury. Its impact can be devastating leaving people unable to speak, understand, read or write. The charity brings people with aphasia together to share experiences, make friends, rebuild their confidence in communication and access the support they need.
