We're delighted to return to Ash Parish Church for a celebration of inspirational carols and evocative readings from the past to the present day.

Familiar seasonal songs to enjoy include John Rutter’s lovely Candlelight Carol, Orlando Gibbons’s glorious Christmas anthem Hosanna to the Son of David, and beautiful lullabies by William Byrd and Gustav Holst.

More recent gems by Malcolm Archer and Cecilia McDowall are included together with Judith Weir’s My guardian angel with a special part for audience. You’re also warmly invited to join us in singing some old favourites with pleasing new harmonies and descants for the choir.

Amongst a diverse selection of captivating readings are Ted Hughes’s Minstrel’s Song, Carol from Kenneth Grahame’s Wind in the Willows and Mrs Winterson’s mince pies by Jeanette Winterson.

John Gardner’s spirited Tomorrow shall be my dancing day brings the concert to a fittingly merry conclusion.

I look forward to welcoming you to our festive evening’s entertainment.
