The Braid Ensemble makes its first appearance at the Off the Cuff Bar in Herne Hill, with support act: solo guitarist Gerard Cousins.

The group focuses on the music of David Braid - a powerfully original contemporary composer, whose work occupies that rare space of intelligent new music with mass appeal.

Rising opera star Emily Gray fronts the group alongside clarinettist Anthony Bailey, guitarist Gerard Cousins and pianist Rossitza Stoycheva.

Alongside the songs (texts by García Lorca, Thom Gunn, etc.) the instrumental pieces display the remarkable virtuosity of the players.
