Music for all - Beethoven's Choral Symphony

Beethoven’s last symphony is one of the towering masterpieces of European civilisation. It is astonishing to think that the composer was completely deaf when he wrote it. All the sounds of this immense work existed, for him, only in his imagination. The main melody of the choral finale was adopted as the European Anthem

This concert is one of our series of Remembrance concerts, commemorating the end of the First World War

Access for Concerts in the Cathedral is through the main doors or underground car park. The Cathedral Car Park accessed from Mount Pleasant is under the cathedral with direct access to the concert venue by lift or stairs. Limited capacity on a first come first served basis. A charge of £3 is payable on arrival.

Refreshments are available in the Gibberd Room in the lower porch during the interval
