  1. Overture, from The Bartered Bride - Bedrich Smetana
  2. Concerto for Violin and Orchestra No 1 in G minor Op 26 - Max Bruch
  3. Libertango - Astor Piazzolla
  4. Symphony No 8 in G Op 88 - Antonín Dvorák

A quiet hymn, a flurry of birdsong, and Dvorák’s Eighth Symphony is on its way. Maybe it’s the lilt of the rhythms, or the sound of those Bohemian woodwinds, but there’s always something magical about hearing a Czech orchestra play Czech music. Smetana’s comedy overture makes a sparkling opener, and to hear Jennifer Pike in Bruch’s hugely-popular concerto makes this concert unmissable!
