  1. Bastien und Bastienne K 50 - Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart
  2. Cantata No 211, 'Schweigt stille, plaudert nicht', (Coffee Cantata) BWV211 - Johann Sebastian Bach

Bastien was written by Mozart when he was 12 years old. A boyfriend and girlfriend try to make each other jealous. Bastienne asks a fake magician to put a spell on Bastien. He does this speaking in a made-up language-“ Diggi, daggi, schurry, murry” In Bach’s Coffee Cantata an angry father moans at his daughter for being addicted to coffee, the latest fashionable drink. She can’t marry unless she stops drinking coffee. Finally she agrees to a husband if he lets her drink coffee.

A new production by Maarten van der Duin featuring Suzanne Smart, Timothy Coleman and Lukasz Biela with the London Gala Orchestra.
