  1. Overture to 'William Tell' - Gioachino Rossini
  2. English Dances (set 2) Op 33 - Sir Malcolm Arnold
  3. Variations on a theme by Haydn, 'St Anthony Chorale' Op 56 - Johannes Brahms

This concert features three contrasting works: one very familiar – Rossini’s William Tell overture; one that may be – Arnold’s Dance Set No 2 used for tv and radio theme tunes; and finally a work whose familiar theme Brahms turns into an orchestral masterpiece in his St Anthony Variations. This promises to be an hour of wonderful orchestral music.
