It was in March 2014 that Jamie W Hall formally took up the baton as Romsey Choral Society’s new Musical Director to conduct a concert. In the 4 years since then BBC Singer Jamie has raised the choir’s performance standards to a new high and the choir is attracting increased attention, a new following and new members.

In July they will showcase multiple pieces of music by history’s greatest composers to feature the choir’s beautiful vocal blend, sensitive treatment of close harmony, and its ability to sing unaccompanied music in the most accomplished way. Romsey Choral Society will perform an eclectic programme of blissful sacred European music from the sixteenth to nineteenth centuries. Listeners can expect to be transported by the wonderful sounds conceived by composers such as Palestrina, Rossini, Rachmaninov, Brahms, Bach and many others.

Conducted by the talented Jamie W Hall, featuring a recital of Rachmaninoff songs by the accomplished guest tenor Tom Raskin, and accompanied by the skilful organist Richard McVeigh, this promises to be an evening of great musical enjoyment.
