This international programme celebrates the triumph of hope and the power of music in different cultures and ages. Vaughan Williams links the thrilling 20th Century choral and organ music to traditional English Carols. The beautiful European motets complement the modern music with a sense of Christmas past. The ancient Cornish church also combines the old and new, with its cheerful Christmas tree display making a seasonal backdrop to the music.

Programme notes; interval refreshments.
