In this year's seasonal offering, English Baroque Choir puts its best baroque foot forward: Durante's Magnificat, a Christmas cantata by Bach's boyhood hero, Buxtehude, and a sparkling setting of In dulci jubilo by Scheidt all feature accompaniment by a specially invited string group. Further festive fayre includes music by Sweelinck, Gabrieli, Praetorius and Bach. More familiar second half items include carols for everyone to sing. Our stirring finale is Vaughan Williams's much-loved Fantasia, for which English Baroque Choir is delighted to welcome back baritone soloist Bruce Russell.

Mulled wine and mince pies are also on the menu - Christmas starts here!
